Principal's Message
Welcome to Murray!
Greetings Mountaineers! It is my honor and pleasure to serve as your principal. I also am a proud product of Azusa schools. I attended Magnolia Elementary School, Foothill Intermediate School, and I am a graduate from Azusa High School. My teaching career began here at Clifford D. Elementary School in 1999 where I taught for 18 years before leaving Murray to become the Assistant Principal of both Center and Foothill Middle Schools. In 2021, I became the principal of Ellington K-8 School for one year before returning once again to Murray to serve as the school’s principal. I look forward to working alongside our Mountaineers, staff, and with our beautiful community to implement our common vision and goals. I will do this through active leadership, and by continuing to build an inclusive and collaborative community of teaching and learning.
There is a spirit of cooperation and progress at our school. Our goal is to provide each student with a challenging and rigorous curriculum appropriate to their academic level. To meet the needs of our students, we are implementing WIN Time at Murray. “WIN” (which stands for “What I Need”) is a time when teachers will be personalizing instruction to further meet the unique needs of each learner in every classroom. It is a period of reinforcement, support, and/or enrichment. Our goal is also to bring our community involvement back to where it was before Distance Learning through various schoolwide events throughout the year.
Educating our children requires that we all work together; our school and our community. We also encourage you to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to see our Mountaineers in action along with the wonderful events taking place at Murray! By working together, we can continue to make Murray Elementary a school where students, parents, and staff can become the best versions of themselves!
Please feel free to connect with us via email, by phone, or stop by our main office! GooOO Murray!
Sincerely,
Mr. Adrian Acosta
Principal
